INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
- Preheat the stone: Preheat the cooking stone on the grill for at least 30 minutes before use to ensure that it reaches the desired temperature.
- Season the stone: Before using the cooking stone for the first time, it’s recommended to season it by lightly coating it with oil and heating it on the grill for 20-30 minutes. This helps to create a non-stick surface and prevent food from sticking.
- Place the food on the stone: Once the cooking stone is preheated, place your food directly on the stone or use a cooking tool such as tongs or a spatula to move the food around.
- Monitor the food: Keep an eye on the food as it cooks, and adjust the temperature or move the food around on the stone as needed to ensure even cooking.
- Clean the stone: After use, allow the cooking stone to cool completely, then clean it with warm water and a non-abrasive brush or cloth. Avoid using soap, as this can leave a residue on the stone that affects the flavor of your food.
- Consider a grill scrape or use a pumice block or damp cotton cloth on a warm stone
- Avoid submerging in soap as the porous stone would absorb the soap
- Not recommended for dishwasher cleaning
- Ensure your stone is completely dry (even the interior can absorb water) prior to use
- Cooking Stones will stain. If staining or cleanup is a concern, some customers use foil or parchment.
- Surface is porous but will sanitize each time it is heated to suitable temperature
- GRILL TYPES: Ensure that the entire stone is exposed to heat. For example, suspending the granite across two cinder blocks would damage the stone, because only the middle of the stone would be above heat source.
- GRILL SIZING NOTE: Ensure that your grill stone stays inside the borders of your grill. This will allow for proper grease and residue to flow into the grill box and keep the outside of your grill tidy and clean. It will also ensure the stone heats evenly to prevent damage.
SIZE AND COLOR
12″ x 9″ x 1/2″ option weighs about 5 lbs and the granite is a salt and pepper gray color.
Cooking Stones are honed to a near polish. The exterior edges will be slightly irregular, and minor pocks (holes), scratches, chips (particularly around the outer borders), and other superficial flaws should be expected. This will not affect the performace of the product. The stone is all natural and resin-free, unlike some of our competitors.
Grill Stones are not eligible for returns (unless the product broken in transit) because of the nature of the product. If the stone arrived with damaged or compromised packaging, please notify us immediately.
