21847 – 17″ Dish (24 ounces) from Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms in Cuttyhunk, MA

Serial # 21847 Category:

We made this food-safe Platter from a fieldstone boulder that we hand-gathered at the farm or place listed above. Artisans sawed and polished the rock by hand with diamond tools in our Lowell, MA studio. Each stone’s provenance and artisan is permanently labeled on the underside and the serial number on the tag and in digital records maintains the collectibility of each piece we create. Visit our farms page to discover farm stories and see photos of our visits. Now you can use this natural artwork to serve cheeses and meats, as a bucolic design element, as a resting place for a spoon, candle, beverages, plants, or other treasures. The stone is also useful as trivet for hot dishes, and can be frozen in the freezer to serve chilled.

Platters are essentially Food Slabs and different only in the attribute of also having a carved 1/8" to 3/8"" border that holds sauces and liquids. The larger pieces are perfect for carving a roast on Thanksgiving, and smaller pieces are perfect for dinner plates.
